For for 40 years the nation of Israel have wandered in the wilderness, their failing faith, their refusal to obey God and his commandments have been their guide. Now a new generation is ready to cross over the Jordan river into the land promised to them by God. A new leader has been appointed as Moses successor. Joshua stands before this nation already proven himself as a faithful man full of courage, but what kind of leader will he be ? What challenges lie ahead for him and this young nation without a home. Will he remain faithful as God’s Soldier ?
This Sunday Night sees the start of a new teaching series at Westwoodhill Church. Joshua God’s Soldier. Each week we will be walling through the book of Joshua in the Old Testament. Reading from and discussing God’s word as we learn of the trials and tribulations of God’s people as they are lead by God and his appointed leader Joshua into the promised land.
The book of Joshua, bring out many difficult themes and questions about Faith, Obedience, Success, Guidance, Leadership and Conquest.
